job_description_responsibilities:
1.This individual will work for Caterpillar Transmission design team in China providing engineering support for Cat transmission China localization and new product development, transmission system and components China sourcing, and Cat construction machinery China manufacturing.
2.The incumbent is responsible for transmission system and component design suitable for China manufacturing capability, like components material, heat treatment, machining, and assembly. The person is expected to work with engineers from our US and China teams and collectively to deliver quality transmission products for the broad construction machinery market Caterpillar serves.
3.The incumbent is expected to support transmission parts China sourcing development and supplier process and quality control. The person is also expected to support transmission integration onto machine systems and validation activities.
4.The incumbent will demonstrate strong customer focus by staying current with customer needs as well as new technologies, products, manufacturing & assembly processes/methods.
5. The successful incumbent may choose to enroll in Caterpillar China ERD (engineering rotational development) program


required_skills_qualifications:
1.MS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering major
2.Mechanical design project experiences required
3.Fluent Mandarin Chinese and English communication ability
4.Strong initiative, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
5.Good Pro/E or similar CAD software experiences
desired_skills_qualifications:
1.Manufacturing project experiences desired
2.Transmission system and components design and manufacturing experiences are preferred, especially on gears, shafts, clutches, and case/cover castings
