Qualifications
1.Requires college education above background major in engineering of electrical or mechanical or related subject
2.A thorough knowledge of machine shop operations, equipment and processes plus familiarity with materials and quality objectives.
3.Prior experience in planning and/or shop experience is essential.
4.Must demonstrate good person-to-person skills and be able to communicate with others.

Desirable Qualifications
Have good knowledge of lean production and front line replenishment operation experience

Responsibilities
Principle activities include:
1. Determines processing needs to assure fixtures, tooling and methods are provided to meet schedules and production requirements.

2. Determines priorities and schedules the sequence of jobs.

3. Determines overtime need, determines priorities when resources are insufficient, and decides when disciplinary action is necessary.

4. Produces product to meet quality standards while maintaining cost.

5. Ensures necessary parts and materials are ordered and distributed in a timely and efficient manner.

6. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency. Works to improve processes, timeliness and reduce costs by eliminating non-value added activities.

7. Ensures preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule.

8. Implement various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certification, etc.

9. Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor; eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean production environment.

10. Evaluate, assess, and identify training needs of the workforce.

11. Ensures training and effective utilization of work force.

This job has complete responsibility for production line scheduling, material ordering, maintenance coordination, etc. This position will report to either an Operations General Supervisor or a Superintendent but both levels would not be used on the same shift.

Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, affirmative action, etc. in performing assigned duties.
