job_description_responsibilities: Direct sales for marine propulsion and genset solutions. The incumbent is responsible to increase sales, profitability and market share in their assigned region by developing new accounts and aggressively following all sales leads. Position requires frequent travel to meet with customers and other stakeholders for the marine medium speed market in China.

Responsibilities:
1.Requires technical and commercial leadership in tender proposal preparation for the engine, and when applicable, for the consortium supplied equipment including gearbox, propeller systems, generators, and ancillary equipment. 2.Responsible for negotiating technical specifications with the customer that complies with all manufacturer requirements. Broad commercial knowledge is required, as this position is responsible to assist the Sales Manager in final commercial negotiations of all projects under their control. 3. The position must call on shipyards, design houses, and ship operators in pursuit of new sale opportunities, with heavy travel to be expected. 4. The position requires close coordination with sales, project management, and service entities within the MaK Asia team and greater Caterpillar team in pursuit of new sales. Direct coordination with Caterpillar factories and consortium partners as well as sub-suppliers is required.

required_skills_qualifications: Must have minimum 12 years experience in the China marine industry. Must have at least 6 years direct sales experience in marine related products in China, with at least 3 years experience selling engines or other major propulsion systems into shipyards. Must have a proven track record for delivering results. Minimum requirements also include strong leadership and communication skills, and broad knowledge of computer operations, merchandising and marketing, business administration, finance and commercial negotiations. Must be fluent in verbal and writing with both Mandarin and English.
