Qualifications
Requires experience with storeroom computer systems and commercial software packages, i.e. spreadsheets, word processors, data bases, computer aided drafting; extensive experience in distribution operations planning; experience in getting things done through other people - teams, suppliers, other company departments, and peers, etc.; and interest in/commitment to distribution operations. The incumbent need to have good Chinese and English language skills and will be required to have extensive travel both in country and out of country from time to time.

Desirable Qualifications
An Engineering degree is highly desirable but not required in all cases.

Responsibilities
This is the senior level job of a family of three positions that do related work. The levels in this family are differentiated by value of projects, complexity of work, and the degree of supervision received by the incumbent. This is a multi-incumbent position with each incumbent performing a portion of, but usually not all of the following:

Investigates alternative storeroom layouts and processes to provide new capacity, and to improve material flow and productivity of existing facilities. Presents results of investigations, carries out approved recommendations. Develops and presents long-range forecasts of facility space requirements.

Carries out studies to determine equipment requirements, prepares and presents results, prepares capital projects, prepares construction contracts, and negotiates with suppliers/contractors. Travels to construction sites to evaluate work progress and resolve disputes.

Carries out analysis of mainframe computer data with user-oriented software packages. Transfers mainframe data to spreadsheet software and performs further analysis. Presents results using these and other software. Seeks and secures storeroom operations approval for proposed projects. Produces lists, cards, and files to be used by storeroom personnel in carrying out approved recommendations. Travel required.

Develops and applies expertise in company proprietary computer systems. Acts as in-house consultant regarding operation of these systems. Supervises installation of these systems at additional company facilities. Analyzes system operation, specifies and requests system changes. Works with company programming staff to make and implement these changes. Travel required. Develops/reviews training materials for process implementation.

Carries out high-level studies of packaging materials and methods. Presents and seeks approval of results. Works with suppliers and others to develop required equipment and supplies. Supervises installation and start-up. Acts as consultant and trouble-shooter for processes already in operation. Provides and coordinates logistic support for contract processor operations.
