Qualifications
A college degree of mechanical design/manufacture, or management in quality field. Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment, or in the quality field is desired.
Requires a thorough knowledge of quality concepts including process control, analysis, Caterpillar internal certification principals, and ISO9000 etc. Requires strong communication, cooperation and influence skills to work with all levels of employees and customers, especially with leadership management employees. Requires quality tools knowledge and to be able to teach manufacturing/office employees how to properly apply quality tools or techniques. Requires being proactive when accomplishing objectives, and innovation is also required to deal with work problems and opportunities.
Advanced computer applications, good oral and written skills in English are a must.

Responsibilities
The incumbent in this position develops plans and tools that are used for internal quality certification for both the shop and the office areas based on the requirements of the Caterpillar Manufacturing Practices such as MQ2005, MQ3005.
This position is required to work with all employees to improve quality practices in their processes through quality manner such as daily coaching, tracking CQI projects & Scorecard, providing quality support if any poor results or negative trends occur, developing IQC training programs, providing training courses of quality specifications to employees.
This position is required to implement the Idea Generation Process in CXL by clarifying and verifying all ideas with related persons and spot check, explain the validation reasons, and encourage all employees to make contributions to CXL development.
This position is required to be coordinators between related teams when there are some issues or roadblocks during implementing CQI projects and Actions generated from the Idea Generation Process, and track its implementation progress.
This position is required to be proactive to develop quality related control methodologies and systems such as Cost of Quality control company-wide.
This position is also required to move forward new management methodologies and practices implementation in CXL, such as 5S/Lean manufacturing, etc., to help area owners set up goals and integrate 5S / Lean manufacturing practices with Internal Quality Certification system through standardization and documentation.
