Qualifications
- MSc. in Manufacturing or Mech. Eng. (or related science or engineering degree e.g. Materials) or BSc with equivalent experience
- Shop floor supervision experience including manufacturing operations, tool and gauge design and application, etc.
- Knowledge of diesel engine and machine cooling systems
- Knowledge of Pro/E and design practices
- Knowledge of cooling analysis processes
- Project management skills

job_description_responsibilities: Caterpillar Aftertreatment and Cooling Products-China (ACP-C) based in Qingdao is seeking a cooling system performance analysis engineer (SG 20 to 22) to develop cooling and exhaust (muffler) components and systems for use in CAT machine and engine applications.

Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance regarding component selection and system performance. A significant portion of this will be in the form of analysis including: underhood thermal and flow CFD (hot or cold, air or fluid) and cooling system performance prediction. The analyst must explain the analysis assumptions, limitations, and results and provide value added input to the design process
- Conduct analysis on muffler designs using CFD and GT-Power
- Define and manage core sample tests required to complete core selection
- Define and oversee execution of all performance validation tests e.g. component performance test, machine cooling test, etc.
- Review all performance test results and determine what actions must be taken
- Consider all aspects of commonality in core matrix selection
- Assist project manager to construct, maintain, and interpret performance specifications
