Job Description:



Provides purchasing solutions expertise, using Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, Management (QCLDM) to deliver maximum value to the non-current parts purchasing team. This role is responsible and accountable for the development, and/or communication and implementation of a regional sourcing strategy for a specific group of Non-current Parts. Is responsible for the category liaison with the Service Parts Business Partners and Product Groups. The incumbent will lead 6 Sigma Strategic Sourcing teams. Through a strong knowledge of Non-Current Parts, demonstrate leadership in recognizing the potential for improved supplier QCLDM performance (delivery, availability, quality, cost) as well as responsibility for soundness of business proposals and risk assessment. Mentor and develop other Buyers, SQEs, and Purchasing Analysts on Non-Current parts purchasing. Build and foster mutually beneficial supplier relationships at all organizational levels.



required_skills_qualifications: A base knowledge of manufacturing and business acumen is required. Role will focus primarialy on machined and fabricated product. This includes foundry processes, machining from casting, forging, or barstock. And fabricating from plate and tube/pipe.

desired_skills_qualifications: Technical, basically print reading, would be a plus. General knowledge of logistic processes would also be considered a plus. Some general knowledge of Caterpillar and its product line.

comments: Once employee is on staff, a possible trip to US will be required. Length of stay could be two weeks. Goal will be to visit established non-current supply base located in here.
