Responsibilities:
1. This role is responsible and accountable for the development and communication. Responsible for managing cost reduction, NPI, source change related projects. Accountable for APQP of new part development to deliver qualified product on time.
2. Provide leadership for NPI, sourcing change and cost reduction. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and new product introduction activities within Purchasing.
3. Tools and Techniques of 6 Sigma will be required. The incumbent will also develop knowledge of the product, NPI, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Category Strategies.
4. The role will identify and satisfy Critical Customer Requirements (CCR), managing Product expectations for Global Purchasing to deliver benefits required to sustain a competitive advantage.
5. The position may require travel as necessary.

1. The position requires an undergraduate degree from a college or university – or equivalent experience.
2. Well-developed interpersonal skills are required in de
aling with sensitive issues, developing others, and reaching consensus on specific actionsFunctional leadership. Capable of leading teams, suppliers and customers to effective solutions.
3. Analytical, problem solving, and project leadership skill.
4. Effective communicator, in written and oral form. Fluent in the English language and preferred other languages. 5. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles as applied by Caterpillar and our suppliers.
